Does anyone know if airbag control modules can be repaired rather than completely replaced?
I had mine diagnosed with a VAGCOM as -
Airbag Front +Seite 2008
1 Fault Found:-
65535 - internal control module memory error
00-10 - - - intermittent

I've had a quote for £360 ex VAT/labour for a replacement. Seems like a lot of money for a problem that appeared 'out of the blue' for no apparent reason.

I read elsewhere that a German fella can repair them (advertises on ebay)

but could this really be trusted?
Any thoughts or suggestions would be most welcome.

Quick follow up...
Audi could not repair the module, and had to replace the unit.
Original Airbag control module unit had part number:-
8L0 959 655 G
Replaced with 8L0 959 655 L

Price for unit was £261 ex VAT.
3 hours labour.
All in price for repair was £589.62.

Very expensive indeed, but essential because of the safety aspect. Someone could be making a living from repairing these modules if they had the know-how.

Roll on pay day..I'm now skint.
