Campact Camera

My head is wrecked! I'm looking to get a compact camera to carry with me the whole time.

What I want in the camera is a good pictures zoom, hence the 20x. I also want fast auto-focusing, so that time between camera in pocket and picture is fast, and that subsequent shots are also speed.

What I'm wondering is ... is it better to buy new technology or year old technology? My budget is max £300.

Have a look at the Panasonic Lumix range, or my preferred choice (because I am a Canon fan) would be the SX240. Ticks all your boxes and more.

Costs around half of your budget too at the moment on Amazon.

My "always in the car" camera is the Hitachi 16mp bridge camera. You can pick them up for around £60.
