    Private road an all....

Pulled up at the lights and you could tell it was modified..and mint

The S3 4wd with ESP beat it off the lights but pretty even after that, 2nd set of lights we had a quick chat and he said it was running 200bhp, again beat off the lights then I eased off after 2nd or it may have been 3rd and he went past - from the days of my old Corrado G60 that was putting out genuine 200 brake i reckon he had no chance of putting down that power off the line in a light fwd hatch - pretty happy with the S3 as the Escort is pretty light car an all.......

Ist test the car has had in the few months of ownership:thumbsup:

You may have beat him, but a S1 RST is a much nicer car than an S3 allllll day long

Yes - in the condition it was in totally agreed - love to have one tucked in the garage only coming out on sundays....very special - although I'd prefer to have a nice mk1 tucked away though...

My properly sorted Corrado G60 was not great in 1st, FK coilovers and decent tyres it would still spin up unless you took it easy then floored once you were going.

Been very impressed at how quickly the s3 goes away from the line - especially in the wet..

I miss my Raddo, but 240bhp and fwd was never a good mixture!

No agreed - they did sound nice though with the boost return mod...
My old Corrado is being looked after by the Phirm now...understand it is putting out 230bhp......roll on 3rd gear joing motorway's..

Was your C a G60 or VR6 - must have done a lot of work to a VR6 to get 240...manifold,exhaust, cams, chip....

G60, was ballanced and lightened, 53mm pulley (used to pop seals like nothing else), full blend charger, TSR Pack C Head, Shrick High Lift Cam, Ported Inlet, RSR Outlet, Front Mount, etc etc. Snapped the crank off it twice which is what led to me breaking it

Still got my Rallye as well, loved my G60s and hated 20vts but really loved S3s so bought one. Really should sell the Rallye!

I had a Fiesta RS Turbo couple of cars before my S3, which was highly modded too :hubbahubba: Hybrid T3 conversion, Pace Intercooler, Polished Ported, Lightened Balanced and uprated Cams, Chipped with 195 Ahmed Bayjoo blah blah blah. To much to type lol but anyway, I had a race with my mates standard S3 off the lights down a duel carridgeway and each time we did it i left him, he couldnt touch me off the lights either. But when it was raining then i had no chance just left behind wheelspinning away lol, good old 4 wheel drive. But there old cars and now im over the moon with my S3 complete prestige luxury thats fast enough for me at the moment.

I always wanted a Corrado, but the insurance on them was CRAZZZY!!!

And have secretly been a fan of the early Fords, my Dad used to have a Mk1 Mexico, then a Mk2 RS2000 Escort back in the day, and they were mint!!!

The customs were pretty decent too, but always preffered the Golfs to them

glad we're seeing more of these posts....helps preserve the image of the S3.... lets face it, people who dont own one are more than likely to give it more credit than its due...... and we can pick our battles more wisely:p

oh and get it mapped if you haven't alreadymay have been a different story on this occasion, ......
