Calling all RNS gurus

Ok so it's not an Audi, but ive just bought an R32 (whilst I save my pennies for a new RS4)

But I have a strange issue that nobody can seem to explain...

If you dont get it. The buttons on the RNS light up when you pop the locks by then go off and won't come back on when the lights are on.
