I changed my front brakes from 288mm to 312mm using the caliper carriers from VAGParts. I am however still using the same calipers, and to be honest I am not that impressed with the improvement.

312mm is what an S3 will have, but are they using a bigger calliper than I have fitted? Are they still a floating variety, or do they have a piston on both sides of the disc?

I know the best way to go would be to fit a set of brembo 4-pots (leon cupra-r variety?) but I am just after ways of making the braking better without doing my bank balance in at the same time!

Any advice muchly appreciated.
Cheers
Mark

S3s have the same single piston callipers...they are not good brakes!

I'm not surprised you didn't see much of an improvement...maybe slightly more resistant to fade, but you'll not see much by way of better braking in all honesty.
