C5 Avant - replaced the aerial and now no reception

Old aerial split/broke and replaced with a ebay cheapy (£7) i now have no radio reception......any ideas? i thought an aerial was an aerial.......clearly not.

Any recommendations for another? ive got satnav but not sure that makes a difference

Sat Nav uses its own GPS antenna so that should not interfere with radio reception if that aerial is naff try and get one from say Halfords if you have the same problem it may well be the aerial cable that has been damaged also have a look at the back of your stereo just to check if the aerial connector has not come loose

yeah assumed a replacement would be needed but didn't want to shell out for one from audi, as i wandered if i shouldnt be getting a crappy cheap one......i did notice the thread on the old audi one had a hole in the middle like a pin should be going in like a cable tv connector....the new one didnt?

Try tps. There normally £30 ish for aerial base. £20 ish for whip. If it's a bee sting. eBay and halfords ones are crap.
