Guys, I want to get some new bits for my interior.

I want leather seats, leather steering wheel and gear knob.
I also want some 17/18 inch alloys.

I am thinking of getting a b5 2.8 and just swapping all the nice bits onto my A4 and then selling it back on again loosing only a bit of money on it.
Otherwise I think all those bits are gona cost in the region of 600 pounds.

Question is would the car loose that much in value if I swapped it onto standard stuff?

    Sorry,

The problem here is that anyone wanting a b5 2.8 is also likely to want the nice bit you will be pinching. So you may find you end up with a vehicle that nobody wants to buy from you. I would have thought you would be better sourcing the bt from a breakers and then selling your old bits on sBAY once you have done the swap. That way you get to at least recoup som eof your costs.

Where do you guys look online for used parts?
Ebay seems a bit dear at times!

What should I been looking to spend on a set of used Leather seats, Steering wheel etc...

Sorry for the brief answer, although I think Marms has summed it up.

For someone looking to buy a 2.8, they wouldn't want one with a lower than standard spec and would also be suspicious of why you hadn't owned it long. Unless you got a really good bargain, you'd lose more doing it that way than buying the parts.

For a decent quality set of leather seats, I'd say you will be paying upwards of £250.

For 17" rims, you could get some nice ones for around £100 (ie: S4 rims), but I would expect them to need new tyres and probably a refurb at that kind of price.

Steering wheel and gearstick would be cheapest direct from a breakers.

Bottom line... modding is never cheap!

Look for a damaged one or one with engine problems! Modding IS cheap if you're prepared to hold out for the bargains rather than jump at the first thing that comes along... Buy something no-one else wants that way it'll be mega cheap.:o.k:

Out of interest how easy/hard would it be to fit TT front seats into a b5?

And does anyone have a full options for a b5. It would help alot to see one, but also did they ever do red seats in a b5?

Never seen or heard of red seats in a B5.

Speak to jase0851 about getting TT seats in yours. He managed to retrofit some B6/B7 Recaros into his B5. Think he got a mate to weld the brackets up on the bottom.
