Well I finally got payback for not getting my ignition barrel sorted out when it was playing up last year. Yesterday it managed to engage the starter motor while my wife was driving to pick the kids up and by the time she got there had burnt out the starter motor. The spring mechanism on the ignition coil that returns the ignition back to "ignition on" once the car is started has failed so you can take your hand off the keys and the starter motor will still be cranking (if it wasn't burnt out). Just waiting to see what the damage is from Autotechnik. Anyone had this problem and does it involve new keys or can they reprogramme it for the existing keys?
