    Hi all (2.0TFSI Quatto),

Found myself on the back of a flatbed this evening. Pulled away from some lights, clutch down, wouldn't engage 2nd gear or anyother gear. Got stuck in neutral. Engine running, no clutch bite/clutch always engaged and won't engage any gears. Engine off, gear engages and starting her up with 1st engaged lurches the car forward. Not checked the fluids yet, just got the car dumped at my local garage. Car has had lumpy 1st/reverse engagement from cold for a while ...

    Guesses? Master Cylinder? Slave Cylinder?

Can anyone give me an idea of costs if it is master cyl or slave? Also the car is 65k on it's orig clutch ... worth getting this changed too? If they are stripping things out, might as well roll as much as possible in to the labor costs?

Here's a pic so you can feel my pain:

    Cheers!

Could be master or slave. Did the pedal go to the floor with no resistance? If the pedal feels normal, then it's not a cylinder!
If the clutch didn't slip or judder, it should be good for a lot more miles.

Na the pedal felt just a bit softer and had no bite point. It did feel weird tho during the actual gear change, much less resistance. Wasn't totally slack. I do get a bit of crunchy feedback through the clutch pedal somtimes, but might just be vibration from our chuggy engines.

Nah standard power. Been thinking about a remap, that's a reason I was thinking about rolling an uprated clutch in to the costs.

Yea this is my worry. If they have to take the gearbox off then i'll get the clutch done. Was thinking about a Helix organic clutch.

Don't know about Audi, but every slave cylinder I've ever done has been on the outside of the box.
