Expensive month for my car!! £907 spent on basically routine servicing!!
Major service, cambelt and DSG oil change were all expected, but the car was leaking coolant. Turns out that there was a split in one of the coolant pipes, and coolant pipes aren't covered by the Extended Warranty!! They'd spent 5hrs finding the problem, and then replacing the pipe at £110 + VAT!!! And the pipe itself cost £70 odd! I thought I was gonna have to sell a kidney to pay for it!!
But Brett was an absolute star, wrangled the cost of the oil and ALL the labour for all jobs as much as he could. Total cost in the end was, as mentioned, £907, which meant that I only paid for the new coolant pipe and no labour costs. It could well have cost around £700 on it's own otherwise.
Service to be commended from the Birmingham Audi lot. Still an expensive day out, but nowhere near as bad as it could have been.
