Whilst changing the cam cover gasket on my 1.8t, I noticed that the metal breather pipe from the front to back of the engine and the rubber connector to the n/s of the engine block and cam cover were absolutely solid with gunk/****/oil.Having cleaned them out totally, I could only clear so much from the pipe into the engine on the n/s - question is without disconnecting all sorts of pipes and wires is there any way of clearing this out? would a small amount of degreaser poured into the pipe clear enough without problems then with the oil in the engine?

id take it off to clean
you dont want all that crap in the sump
may block your pick up pipe
