    Hi

I have recently upgraded my performance and am having some difficulty in obtaining the correct upgraded calipers. My current vehicle is a 1.9tdi 2004 Avant Final Edition. I require the optimum calipers which would manage around 210bhp. I've looked at the 2.5tdi C5 and the only difference I notice is the size of the disc as mine is 288mm and the 2.5tdi is 320mm, the piston sizes are 57mm. The other option is the 2.5 tdi quattro model which has two pistons and the same sized disk.

What i need to know is

    1. If i utilize the 2.5tdi calipers on the standard model will there be much noticeable difference as the pistons are the same size as my current ones.

    2. Can I use the Quattro calipers and if I so is it a virtual straight swap or will I have to do some reworks etc and will it be the case of just swapping over the carriers and bobs your uncle.

    Much needed help..

    Thanks
    .

The 320mm use a different upright. A 312mm set from a bi turbo a6 would do your trick. I think the calipers are the same and the carriers are different. I went from 288mm to 312mm and my hoses didn't need changing. Simple, carriers, calipers, discs and pads and bleed through.

Thanks Samuel.....So the calipers are the same as the ones I have on my current Tdi and I would only require a different carrier and larger discs...Is that correct......That would save me a bunch of cash :footy:

That link only showed me one caliper. I don't know if the 288 tdi calipers and the 312 bi turbo are exactly the same. My car is a 2000 1.8t Quattro with 288mm disc and I got a used set of 312mm from a 99 or 01 2.7 petrol bi turbo Quattro. The calipers I'm near sure where the same and the pads. The carrier and discs are larger.

Look up on ebay and you might bag a pair for £60.

The Quattro front end and a front wheel drive are the same. exceptions extend to the higher power models that have the 321mm discs which have different bearing carriers, bearings and drive shafts. The back end for both cars are totally different.
