Right i have orderd some 288mm drilled and groved disks but they dont fit, my old disks are 280mm but i was told my car 1.8t fwd 99 are 288?

hmmmmmmmmmmm.

THAT is strange mate. ALL 1.8T's should have 288mm front discs.

Forgive my rudeness, but are you 100% sure your car was originally a turbo?

The only thing I can think of is that it's either a converted n/a car, or some complete muppet has fitted na hubs for some obscure reason!

edit: beat me to it!

properly daft idea that! they'd have had to change the hubs, calipers, brakes, everything, for a down grade :S

People do some bizzare things!

Well ive had a good look round and the calipers and hubs are off a 1.8na and also the front bumper has been spayed from blue to burgundy so my guess is its been in a bump some time in its life. Any ideas what i would need to replace? I know ill need the calipers and hub but would the suspention need changing?

Have your calipers got FSIII stamped into them?

Would have been in a serious smash to change both the hubs.

Mistake in the factory?

Going to get two whole suspension legs in the morning off an a3 1.8t hopefully with callipers. Will update with my findings

Finaly sorted after a hard days graft
