Bose Thump

Hi
Every time i turn on ignition a thump comes from the boot area when the stereo comes on, its a Bose symphony, 6 disc,

Any ideas what the problem is ??

Mine's done the same as long as I've had it - I assumed it was the sub turning on or something...has it always happened or has it begun recently?

No just started over past couple of days.

Has it affected your sound ??

No, the sound is fine - you having problems?

The only problem I have sometimes is that the CD Changer fails when switching CDs and then I get the message CDC Error (really annoying, keep meaning to find out if anyone knows what the problem is). Never thought whether the two could be related before, but certainly the thump does comes from a similar location.

In fact, I had assumed I'd just got used to the thump and didn't take any notice of it before, but maybe it has gone away...if I fire her up tonight I'll let you know.

I'm sure this problem has occurred before, and i think it was an earthing problem.

quickest way to find out, phone the local audio specialist.

Sound doesnt seem to be affected, car was lying idle for 5 weeks then when i drove it again the thump started [along with front brake shudder..driver side wheel...warped disc mabye

Hmm..just been out and no noise on either occasion i started it - will keep my eye (ear) on it over the next few days and see if it still happens at all or not.

I'm speaking with a technician at a dealer tomorrow anyway so will ask about it and see what he says.

Quick update - car's not going to the garage for 3 weeks or so now, but the chap is going to have a look at it then so I'll let you know.
Interestingly I heard it again the other night after not having driven the car for a few days, first time I can remember hearing it in a while - on that occassion the engine also struggled to splutter to life and once it was on the stereo seemed to take a lot longer than normal before any sound came out of it.
