Hi my stereo has stopped working i was wondering what this is and does it affect my bose speakers?

I can't see the plug properly on the left side but the red one on the right looks to be able to plug into the oe Bose connector
 
there was a blue and white cable from the adapter that was connected to a solid blue cable is that correct?
 
I am assuming that this is an aftermarket unit you are on about and not an OE headunit?

As mentioned above... its an adaptor to allow aftermarket units to work with Bose setups...

What is your definition of "not working"? that could mean anything from not powering up to no sound... too ambiguous to be able to start diagnosing..

If no sound then the adaptor could be at fault...

I would be checking that there is power to the OE wiring first... then start tracing back

I have no sound i followed the blue cable to the boot to find it had either been cut or broken where is it meant to be connected?
