Boot panel removal

Hi all

new to the site, and it seems to be a great site too.

i hope someone can help me here, i need to remove the interior panel on the boot lid of my 99 s3, i found the 2 screws by the handle but i cant seem to get it off and i didnt want to force it.

any help greatly appreicated

They are the only two screws holding it in. The rest of the panel is held in with clips. You need to start in one corner and pull it downwards. Inseert a long bladed flat screwdriver and use it to lever the panel away from the lid from where the clips are. You will see the clips when you peer into the gap between the panel and lid.
Just be patient and you will win.

You need to be quite brutal. It makes a lot of frightening noises as it comes off. I used a set of plastic cycle tyre levers to help prise the thing off.
