Boot light

I dont seem to have a boot light just a hole where it should be and a cable with a connectorin the hole.

I would like to add the boot light. Can i just buy an old one off ebay? Does the replacement have to be from the same model (8p)?
Is it as sime as conecting it to the cable and sitting it in the hole and then it will work?

Should be just that simple yes !

Try and connect a bulb (sidelight) across the connector to make sure you have power there first. You may have to switch the ignition on and off a couple of times before it works because the control module will have switched the circuit off thinking the bulb has blown !

Thanks for the reply i have seen some on ebay but they are from 99 or 2000 year cars and mine is a 2004 are they all the same?
