I have few things in my boot, car is less than 4 weeks old and the boot carpet looks fubar'd? anything with a slight raise on it seems to mark it?

Anyone else noticed this

(2011 s3 3dr)

Yep. I have a few indentations in mine. It is very thin and the pile is of poor quality in my opinion.

Yeah sure is pretty weak. Mine is 2005 and used as a work horse and had numerous gearboxes and car parts thrown in the back. Looks like a tired old van. I'll replace the boot carpet with a new one in the new year i thnk.

get a boot liner from halfords:idea:

Would have thought that at the cost of the car would justify not spending more £ on a tacky, ill-fitting plastic tray from Halfords?

Or am I expecting too much these days from German build quality?

I've just ordered a "semi rigid" OEM boot liner. Should be here tomorrow.

As you've said and noticed is the reason why I've ordered this. And first time in my car ownership I've had to do this.

There are 4 different types available.

I've got one in my car best thing i ever got , i use my car for all sorts when i go mountain biking it gets chucked in the back and all my detailing stuff goes in there too i know my boot carpet is still nice and clean
