Boost gauge vent install

hello all,
i am trying to install my new boost gauge and vent hold in the drivers side vent above the light switch.

i have managed to remove the vent itself and the casing below the steering wheel but i cannot actually remove the vent from a wire in the back that much be the light source for the slider to turn vent on and off. where does this unclip?

also where can i run the vacuum tube through to this area?
