Iv been looking for a bonnet guard for my A3, but cant seem to find any? Does any one know where I can buy these from? Iv looked through ebay and various other auto sites but no joy, they seem to only cater for the 4x4 market.

you can get big strips of plastic that fit on the leading edge of the bonnet of lots of 4x4's, popular in america, never seen them for cars though

You seem to be getting the wrong end of the stick here, They arent meant to look good, they are designed to work in california/florida where 3 million flies a second sacrifice themselves into the paintwork!;)

Its only by coincidence that they look cool (usually just the bonnet bit) on certain Vag cars because they look like eyebrows!

lol i get what they for but its just the uglyness of it which puts me off
id prefer gettin to my destination and cleanin the car again than havin my car in a bra
havin a good lookin car is for all the time... not just when its parked up
only time id even consider put something like that on would be before a show etc
even then i'd park a couple streets away from the show to remove it b4 rollin in...

Ihave to agree, they also collect all sorts of rubbish behind them and you end up with more scratches than would have been caused by not using one at all!

Those bras do spoil the looks on the car but there's alternatives. You can have fitted some sort of clear plastic film which covers the entire front and offers the same protection. I've seen this in flesh on an S3 (imola yellow) at one of my very early meets. It's invisible to the eye so you won't notice it's there. Costs between £200-300 including cutting and fitting.

I have the clear film fitted to my 8P3. Quite a bit more expensive than £200-300!! It was £550, but considering a front end re-spray would easily be that, its protected my bumper already.

Virtually invisable from 6ft away, only visible line is the bonnet.

Car bra - gimp mask. Would you wear a bin bag on your head for protection? No, because it would look bloody stupid.

You've really got to be a spacker to suffocate yourself with a binbag - I used to put them on my head all the time when I was a kid (because EVERYONE said it was a bad idea) and hey presto, not dead :haha:

Not particularly clever, maybe, but also not dead

You do realise that when they said it was a bad idea to put a bag on your head they didn't actually mean balancing it ON your head?! :)
Because, as you correctly stated, this will not kill you.
However, putting your head inside it will dramatically increase the chances of facing death by suffocation.
Unless of course there is a whopping great hole in it! :)

    It's all quite scientific.

Lidl! Working class till I die lad :o.k:

It's easy. Either on your own or with a 'friend' the idea is to reduce the oxygen supply to intensify orgasm. If you're having a 'danger ****' with a plastic bag over your head it's a good idea not to get carried away and forget to remove the bag before you pass out - ask Michael Hutchence (if you know a psychic)

This is a far better idea than the automotive gimp mask. If it doesn't look too bad I'll definately consider it for my new car - I do 130+ almost daily and the front of the car is peppered with stonechips...no saving the windscreen, that looks like it's been to Beirut :gun2:
