    Hi

    i have a 05 A4 Cab,
and tonight i have noticed, on both front wheel arches that there are some bubbles appeared.
5-6 fair size bubbles on both sides.
there appears to be water under the paintwork.

I know with all the weather/rain is not great.
but i would never expect it to appear so bad so quickly.
    there must be an issue.

whats the warranty on the body work is it still something like 12 years??
and are the wheel arches covered??

I had an S3 1999 before, and had the roof runners re done under warranty.

    thanks

It would all depend on what caused the initial leak to let water in. If it was a stone chip they won't touch it. Thats what they told my old man with his S8. But fortunately for him it wasn't on the edge of the arch, it was slightly higher up so they honored the warranty.

3 years on and it's now showing a miss-match in colour. Maybe not enough lacquer. He is taking it back to Teeside Audi when he is back up north next.

Good luck and hope you get it sorted.

Don't quote me as I have no idea but last time I checked our cars were only supposed to last ten years according to the dealer so surely it would be that long (unless the damage wasn't age related as stated above).

I would have a go! I had both my front wings replace by Audi(completely Free) last October. I don't think it got done under the corrosion warranty and can't remember what they called it. I know by reading on here that a lot have got nowhere wheres other have. It can take some time, months in some cases and got nowhere, mine took 2 days. I would give it a go and you might be lucky. Good luck!

I've got a 53 plate that had 2 wings and a boot last year. Send an email to Audi UK and they will get your local dealership to inspect it. As long as it hasn't had any work dome on the areas it's gone you should be ok. I had to pay 30%

I got the two new front wings done by audi last year. Ive got a 54 plate cab. They started bubbling on the lip about 15-20mm above where the corner of the bumper meets the wings. I was told at the time some of the wings never got undersealed on the inside. The plastic wheelarch cover holds water in that area.
You can tell if they are undersealed by sticking a finger in thru the engine bay. Should be sticky to the touch.
I got it done f.o.c. they were nowhere near as bad as yours tho..
I hope you get this sorted. Its got to be worth a visit to a dealers.

I will be going to Audi, its not a stone chip, they have appeared within a week, on both front arches, ? something must be wrong.!

Mine's an 02 plate and that's exactly how mine have gone. having seen how much people are asking for second hand wings I might have a go at emailing Audi myself.

Have booked it in with Audi Exeter to look at it, but not for over a week as the guys away.

He tried dismissing it straight away saying warranty is only for chassis etc..
bolt on items like wings are only 3 year warranty for paint.

I made a comment, saying he hasnt even seen the issue yet, you cant dismiss it.

Audi will mug you off mate. I had them look at my roof gutter, front wing and rear quarter, they said they'd pay 60% for the roof but nothing else. Was going to still cost me £600. Got all the issues sorted and rear bumper painted for a little bit more than that. Why they can't just own up to poor quality and pick up the bill, shocking really

"they are not that expensive , Audi A4 Saloon 2001-2004 Car Body Panels | Car Body Panels 4U"

I never came across that site when I searched, the prices on there are pretty decent. I saw some people on Ebay wanting about 80-90 quid for second hand ones.

Anyone know if the original ones are easy to remove?

IMG_20140214_172025.jpg IMG_20140214_172050.jpg Mine have gone pretty much the same way, I've just had to buy a new control arm set so won't be able to get them sorted for a while now, it's annoying because they look bloody awful.

I think its a design fault from sound proofing on the inside of the wing. it absorbs and holds water apparently. Change the wings and dump the sound proofing

Odd really my local audi dealer couldn't give a toss about a claim, said they wanted the car for half a day ffs, my local vw dealer couldn't have been more helpful when they replaced both front wings on my 03 plate passat last year (for free!)

i think audi dealers sadly have all disappeared up there own backsides these days just like bmw did, all they want to do is sell you a new car

well, went to Audi today for them to measure the paint etc..
They say its had somebodywork done.
funily enough to both front wings.
Pretty much the whole car measured over 100.. apart from the bonnet.
    every where else emasured between 134 - 240, 154, 186 etc..

So i have left it with them to check if my car has had any warranty work done before.

    Any ideas/suggestions ?
Paint certainly doesnt look like its been repainted anytime. no orange peel etc.. no difference in panel gaps / colour etc..
    Bonnet looks s**** tbh.
