Blown Turbo..

    Well it's happened, car has popped it's turbo tonight.. Plumes of oil smelling smoke pouring out of the back, car would not move, turned it off ASAP and towed it home!

    This is going to get bloody costly! :crying:

    Only thing thats good about not having a turbo!

    Well it's funny you should say that because the Audi was going tomorrow for a Honda Civic Type R, no turbo there! Test drove one tonight, liked it and was going back to try sort a deal out tomorrow.. Looks like this was the Audi's way of not letting me get shut lol, will be keeping the A3 for a little while longer now!

    ah gutted mate, seams like alot have been goin lately, hope mine is ok, gettin a stage 1 tune on sat so bit nurvous now

    Mines mapped, it has been from 69K.. make a hell of a difference, maybe this has been a contributing factor to the turbo going?

    Possibly, more power = more strain..

    She knew you were getting rid of her, my old A3 did the same... on the way to the dealers for the p/x there was rattling, spent 30mins on the hard shoulder trying to locate it.. in the end I found out it was an empty Coke can in the drivers pouch :happy:

    It was the turbo, an fully reconditioned exchange turbo was £380, then there was the PD oil to buy and the oil feed pipe and a new oil filter, i full flush of the inter cooler and bits which i can't remember it cost me £600 for all the above fitted.

    I have also done a few other bits and bits too this last week.

    DSG oil service, £150.

    2 new front tyres, £200

    Laser tracking, £35.. I'm sure i was ripped off for this as some garage where saying it would cost £15, stupidly i didn't ask how much it was before hand i just assumed it would be between £15 - £20!

    I did Robby, the GT Sport TSI 170.. If i remember rightly you sold me the rear spoiler.. am i correct?

    Do i recall you buying a 2.0 FSI MK5 and chopping it in for a TT over on UK-MKIVS.NET?

    Yep it was me with the spoiler
    sold the TT, had a Freelander TD4 sport, astra 1.6 turbo s/h, Focus ST2 and picked up an A3 TDi sport S-Line today :)
