    :hi:

I've noticved this on mine too. The drivers is slower, but if you look then you will notice the drivers mirror also folds a lot closer to the side window that the passenger one. I don't know if this is designed this way to give you more access in small parking spaces. Looking from the front on, it looks a bit strange because it is clearly noticeable, not a massive difference though. Anyone have any opinion on this?

    Hi Ashley

There have been some other posts on this a while back (I think it was Stu who noticed this as well) and someone mentioned the angle are slightly different, It doesn't bother me really, just a bit odd.

One thing that DOES annoy me is the telephone ring volume!! I can't see how you can turn the volume down BEFORE the phone rings. I was driving home last night and was in my own little world when my wife rang and it was so loud (the ring volume not my wife ) it scared the s**t out of me lol. I can only turn the volume down once it starts ringing. Anyone else notice or know how to solve this? I can't see any settings for it.

My car has been delayed another 2 weeks. Week 45 build, estimated delivery is first week in December. That really will be 10 months from order to delivery!

Lovely car. Nice to see another 3 door too. Most people seem to go for SB.

Does the phone volume not stay at the selected volume when you alter it during receiving a call? Funny thing with my mirrors is that this afternoon they seem to be working at the same rate! Voodoooo car!

One thing I am pee'd off about is the fact it's got to go into Audi on Saturday morning for brand new discs and pads on the front. It's only done 60 miles ffs! The NSF disc is scored really badly and has been since it was delivered to me. Didn't see it initially because of the rain and surface rust that had formed on the disc! Complete pain in the arse! Grrrrrrrrrr Poor show Audi! Still love the car thougH!

Not sure mate, the volume on my phone is quite low but the car speakers are still really loud. It may be determined by the volume of say the radio or my Mp3 player (e.g the louder I have music on the louder the phone ring). There are a few settings for sound on the car but only bass, treble etc. I was wondering if there are options on VCDS?

Sorry to hear about your issues, it is a bit of a pisser. Sure it will get sorted OK, but just a pain to have to drive to your dealer & back.

I don't think my mirrors have ever worked at the same rate, but it is a bit strange! Not sure if you have noticed yet as well but they don't fold when driving, it must be a safety thing but my Astra ones used to fold at any speed (when the button worked!) and it was handy on the country roads to work when there isn't much room!

The phone system remembers the volume you set so if you lower it then it'll remember that next time. The volume you set controls both the ringing and the call itself, you can't set them separately, but the system remembers the phone, nav & radio/mp3 volume levels independently.

Thanks Vertigo that could explain it as everytime I am using the phone I turn the in call volume right up as that part is fairly quiet. I will have to remember to turn it back down just before ending the call so the next one doesn't wake me up!!

This is like a BMW as far as im aware. They would unfold automatically at i think 10mph and couldn't be folded over this speed. Stupidly just like the Audi, they also don't fold when you lock the car. Although using a relay there must be some way round this. Managed to do it on a Mondeo a few years back so the remote signal would trigger the fold switch singnal. Maybe somebody will look into that!

Yeah would be good if it could be done mate. It's not exactly a major issue but would make it so much more convenient.

I'm new to this forum and would like some advice on insuring my new BE which I'm picking up tomorrow. My existing insurance company cannot find the 2.0 TDI (140ps) listed anywhere and I can't seem to find it listed on any of the comparison websites either. Even the woman at Audi insurance where they give you 7 days complimentary insurance couldn't find it. Has anyone else had this problem and what companies should I try for quotes? Many thanks in advance

Hi, I am new to this forum as I was previously a BMW 320D M Sport driver and Mercedes SLK 350 driver.

I am collecting my new Audi A3 Black Edition TDI in Exclusive Java Green paintwork tonight. I wanted to post up some pics to see what you guys thought of the colour.

For some reason I am unable to post up the pics. Any ideas?

I am collecting my Black Edition 2.0 tdi today evening from Audi. It's an Exclusive Java Green colour (i know some will like it and others will hate it). I spoke to a lady at Audi insurance called Debbie. With great difficulties she eventually found the car I was buying. Try giving them another call :)

I had this exact problem with elephant. It's such a long winded model that the poor guys in the call centres who can barely speak English anyway get very very confused. It should be there for definate, but I think sometimes you have to throw the whole S-Line Black Edition TDi etc etc etc into the equation! Why oh why can insurance not be one of two thing.... cheap for all and simples as alexander the meerkat puts it! lol

Thank you! I must admit I didn't realise that I needed to use S-Line! Perhaps my existing insurance company can find it now!!

Hi everybody. The following is part of an email that Ive just received fro Audi UK re my a3 sb-be on order.
It may be of interest to anyone who is waiting for a black edition.

I have had a look into this for you and your vehicle is confirmed into week 46. This will not change.
The vehicle was confirmed into this week last week sometime so I see no reason why you cannot take delivery this year.
I have taken a look in the factory system to see what has been happening and it has been moving around between week 41 and 48 and this is purely down to Audi having such few production slots.

With regards to your vehicle Bluetooth is not on your order. Bluetooth is now standard but for orders placed now for delivery in 2011 as this is part of our Fast Start offer.:banghead:

    Thank you Tori Audi UK

beginning to regret that it isnt a option to buy a black edition in denmark - would look hot on my sb which should arrive in a few weeks. Was build in this pas week (43). Ordered week 39. However if i wanted it upgrated to s line exterior it would have been 7-8k and 5k for the interior :(

should anyone want a brand new chrome front in exchange of a black one, i would be happy to trade :p

OK mine is not a black , was build week 46 , checked with Audi UK and now build week 45 and they say up to 3 weeks for delivery from build week so looking at early Dec pick up ..Yippee

My dealer told me I should do the lottery this week , as he has had a number of orders put back to build week 19 !

I have to say if that had happened it would be bye bye Audi

Music... Why don't you wait until 1 Jan and save yourself £2-300 (increased trade in value) and beat the VAT increase which comes in I believe on 5 January.

you are right I did think about that , but the VAT increase is on 4th Jan and 1st./2nd/3rd are holidays so may get complicated picking up then. The other problem is a trade in is showing a few faults which I am concerned about ..

As long as you pay and conclude the deal I am sure that any self respecting dealer will register for 1 January (to benefit the px in a few years time) but deliver on 31 December to a secure garage. We've done this several times for Reg changeover dates and dealer actually appreciates getting one more car away before the rush.

I ordered my A3 Sportback Black Edition about weeks ago, I have been told to expect an April delivery. There was talk of maybe getting it as early as december if he could amend an existing build slot in time but that never materialised so I have been told I will have to pay the extra VAT :(

Just wanted to ask peoples opinions on options, is there any options that people have that they couldn't be without? I'm in two minds about the SatNav... I use TomTom on my iPhone currently and am not particularly bothered about the Audi SatNav, however I do like the look of it on the dash. I hear it helps residual value and it looks like a great UI for the stereo and for managing car settings.

Whats the main different between the CD/DVD satnav options? I don't need european satnav let alone memory card readers. Is that the only difference? Is the software/screen the same?

    Luggage/Storage pack? Worth it?

Non smoking pack, is the compartment actually useful or is it just worth leaving it with the smoking pack if i don't smoke?

Anyway, the SatNav is my main issue. It's alot of money, is it really worth £1500? Can't wait to get my car, I hope it arrives earlier than April!

I regretted getting the technology pack at the time but now, I'm sooooo glad I added it as an option! I love the new MY11 RNS-E with the gloss black surround, it really finished off the interior especially if you got the piano inlays! All the other things that come with it though, the bluetooth, AMI, it's just brilliant and I would recommend it to anyone!

Hmm... Not sure if I have seen that yet! Are you able to post any pics? The Black Edition in the showroom had the symphony radio. The thing is though, if I bought the DVD system is it worth getting the bluetooth etc? :/ God it adds on loads of money... Just don't know if it needs all the extras to really shine!

The Tech Pack seems quite good value IMHO, however now that BT is included in BE model shouldn't Tech Pack become cheaper??

I would expect that at circa 50% of the Value of Tech PAck will be recovered on the sale so the true cost over 3 years is probably 1500 -10% discount = 1350 /2 = £675 max over 3 years or about 50-60p a day!!

CD Nav is nowhere near as good as the DVD version and the screen is pathetically small too.
