while problem solving with my car (2.5 tdi) i replaced my maf with an ebay special, its was perfect to start with then all of a sudden at 3500 rpm it would stop pulling,so i went back to my original bosch one, i was told you could clean mafs so i thought i would give it a go, looking for a cleaner for the maf was a bit of a puzzle to start with and some were quite expensive, but i found a nice big aerosol from halfords (electrical contact cleaner) for £3.99 and its worked amazingly on my original bosch maf. so thats my tip, don't scrap your mafs yet, give it a clean for £3.99 first and see how you get on.....worked for me and saved a few quid

Aye, maplin also do one for about that price. It's part of my service routine now. Stinky delivers the goods all the way to 4500! not that that's asked of the old girl much.
