Only cleaned the car Sunday then on Monday Godzilla decided to crap all over the bonnet. Got most of it off after having to clean it again last night but there is still a tiny bit of etching left. Iv'e used quick detail and I machined it with a DA with meguiers compound but its faintly there. Do you think if I try and clay it next time I clean it or would you try something else?

I was shocked over clay's work. I use clay every 2 washes to make sure car is nice and shiny.

I would use clay before any detailing compound in that spot, if I were you. Compound should've done it also but I personally think clay is better.
Don't forget to run it along the car correctly and with soapy water.

In the end autoglym 'paint renovator' shifted 90% of it. I'll try to get the rest of another day. But I'm a lot happier and can barely see it

You might find either a glaze or AIO like Autoglym SRP will obscure the final 10%
