Right well i since ive got friday off i decieded to do my wishbone bushes. Everything has gone smoothly car went pack together no problems... ive took my car out for a test drive and noticed the trackings out like a mo fo :crying: confused! On closer inspection i found i have elongated holes on my wishbones where the balljointints are fitted! and because ive done both dont know where is right... is this normal for 2001 S3? i can imagine its used to set up for track day maybe? can anyone tell me where theres is, for normal town/motorway driving? or where i can find the information? or even better a setup for me who has a heavy foot haha obviously i will be gettin 4wheel laser alignment after setup tomorrow?

just wanna get it ready for weekend driving :w00t: thanks peeps

there should be markings where your ball joints were originally placed, your tracking isnt out its just the angle your wheels are set at. I had a cv boot replaced the garage didnt put the ball joint back in its original place & the steering wheel was well off straight when driving straight, after adjustment it was fine.

Great that's what I'm hoping! I've check for markings can't seem to make any out where the washer went... Are yours fully towards? Dead centre? Or pushed tight back?

Can I just set them in the middle and go get it laser aligned?

Thanks for the quick responses guys

surely his track would be out if adjusted them both, for example if he pushed them both out he might get a bit more toe in. Although the adjustment is minimal. But if you have changed loads of suspension parts its worth getting it tracked. I need mine tracking but considering fitting new dampers or coilovers first.

Set them today dead centre both sides... Ran out of time to do the tracking, but have noticed that the ever annoying ESP light which has been constantly on for two months now doesn't come on till about 20-25 mph when before came on at 10mph sooo fingers crossed tracking done tomorrow solves another problem... Thanks for quick responses fellas :D
