    Evening,

My B8 Avant 2.0 (143) is booked in for a Revo Remap on the 13th May, at Lincoln VW Specialist, they have offered to fit a Revo Panel Filter whilst it in for £45.

    1) Is this worth fitting, benefits?

    2) is it worth getting anything else done prior to a Remap, Exhaust, FMIC, Anything else?

    Cheers, Gareth.

Personally I wouldn't bother with the filter the standard ones are more than good enough.Looking at ETKA it appears to be a large circular filter the same as the one on my 3.0 TDI.
If the air filters done more than 20K then may be worth changing for a new one.
A change of oil won't hurt if it's due soon, put some Shell V Power diesel in or BP super stuff.
You already have a FMIC its the same part thats used on the 211bhp 2.0 TFSI so no real point in changing that.

No point in uprating the FMIC on a remapped 140bhp car you won't see much if any advantage. All the prices on the Darkside site are without VAT so that intercooler is £369 with the VAT and cheapest shipping.
Do you want a FMIC to actually improve the performance or as a fashion accessory for the car ?.
I fitted a Mishimoto J line intercooler to my car off fleabay, with the hoses and stuff probably cost £250 . I went for the silver item as I didn't actually want it to show up too much, however since I fitted it I have sprayed it satin matt black so you can't see it at all now.

    Afternoon,

I was interested in the FMIC if it gave me any benefit over the stock one, but as you point out shouldn't be buying it as a fashion accessory!

    Remap done!

Just driven the car back to work from Lincs Volkswagen Specialists after the REVO map was installed.

Really pleased with the results, a lot more responsive in the lower rev range & a definite improvement through all gears from a standing start.

    Pricey, but money well spent!
