I have a dint on my driver's wing so am looking at just getting a replacement in the same colour... Are there any variences across the B6 model range (avant/convertable etc)?

There are a few cabs on eBay, but wanted to double check!

I know Cab's won't fit - headlights are different & the front bumper is different, I think the Avant & Saloon front are the same.

Its also got some rust where a stone chip has been left to fester, so would think a repair wouldnt be feasible ! I am sure the paint wont 100% match, but will get it mopped with the rest of the car to get it closer!

a mop wont do anything .. all the mop dose is polish .. if the paint dont match the paint dont match

I know a mop wont change the colour - but it will at least get the whole car to the same level in terms of the finish.

People get one or more panels repaired and painted all the time, so I'm sure i will cope.

I think what vr6gordy is saying is for example:- a "brilliant black" painted wing would look different when put on a car with "Ebony Black" paint.

So I hope the wing you have bid on has the same paint code as your car - otherwise even being mopped you will notice the colour difference.
