B5 speaker install?

Hi guys, the front door speakers in my B5 are shot so time to replace them.

Now I have some Pioneer Ts-E1002i's but these are only 2 way, so would I need a X over to cut the base out before it gets to them or do they just use the part of the signal that they want?

Or should I just buy some 3 way 4" to fit?

I will be fitting a sub at a later date, but for now would be happy just without rattling speakers
