Hello folks, have just come across talk of the b5 lower spring perch plate which will even up the ride height of the car, can find suppliers for this in the states europaparts, ecs, etc but none in the uk? Anyone bought in the UK? And if so is it ok for s-line suspension? And fit b7 chassis ok?

Cheers

can buy them from audi them selfs- only place i know of, and yes they do fit s-line suspention n b7 chassis

Know any part numbers? It's just the standard 1 off the b5 chassis isn't it?

Bought mine from Audi, I think they were around £25-30 for the pair

ps. have also just been told that the Audi A4 B5 (1994-2001) spring plate is the same as the VW Passat B5 & faceleft B5.5 (1996-2005).. which makes sense I guess, same floor pan!

Who's TPS goose?

The Trade Parts Specialists (TPS).. see linky above ^^^^^^

to my knowledge, 95% of VAG parts come from these guys.. with the exception of newer stuff which still has to come from the factory.

you dont have to be a trader or an indie to buy from these guys, you can buy direct and save yourself any dealer margin.

my indie now knows i do this, so he orders the bits for me at cost :yahoo:

Dropped mine about 15mm !

Defo no change, never measured before and after but def not worth it..... Looking at the 2 parts is there much difference? The guy who fitted said he couldn't see a difference

You sure u got right part ?
Never heard anyone who has fitted them say there was no difference ?
Can't even show you a picture of mine because I have h&r s fitted so won't be like for like. I fitted my springs then noticed front sat higher than the back so fitted b5s and front came down in line with rear it's now low and level with good ride comfort I can recommend these springs with b5s spring cups if your looking to go low this is the best option with out the expense of coils.

I got the parts from Audi and the part number that macdoon put up in his post above, def B5 ...... Can u look at them on the car to see if the guy actually did fit them and isn't pulling a fast 1 on me

And now with b5s & H&R sports

Definately dropped mine around the 15mil mark

Got a different motor now, but will be lowering with H&R 35mm, and B5 plates very soon

Will be doing mine the next free weekend I get that isn't p***ing down with rain!!

IIRC the H&R springs are 35mm? Would 19s sit fine under the H&R + B5 cups as I'm looking at getting some RS4 wheels.

Updating for future reference, these are not B5 perches, these are B7 perches only made in steel instead of Aluminium, these will not lower your car!!

You need 8D0 4121 03B.

I take it these are for the front of the car? Is there a guide online on fitting them? One where the pics haven't expired?

Here's a link for a B7 spring install from VWVortex forum. Thats the closest I found, doesn't cover the perch plate installation but that is simply a matter of removing the original spring from the strut and knocking the original plate of and replacing with the B5 plate.

Can I confirm that these will fit the B7 S4 to lower it slightly? :D
