About to hit 180k miles and have nothing in the history to say they've been done and I certainly haven't. Front arms are all new and polybushed so figured it might be worth doing.

Question is, how much of a ****** are they to change?

i've done one, it wasnt hard, but it wasnt "easy" either. Its kinda awkward to get into it, and get enough leverage into it to undo it while counterholding the rackend etc.

Id say its probably easier to pull the rack out then just replace both sides on a bench and it ensure the boots are fitted correctly and wont be fiddly in the tight space you have...... Only removed the rack on my car 3 times in the space of a year so find them a breeze now but then a ramp does help

Best bet is to :-

1. Remove drivers knee bolster and undo the column shaft joint.

2. Remove the battery cover, battery and tray.

3. Remove the wheels, track rods, upper balljoints, lower shock bolt (shock and arms needn't be removed on passenger side)

4. Remove the shocks then the access flap/trim.

5. Remove undertray and then undo the rack bolt (drivers side UJ maybe needed its a fiddly one) undo the pipe bracket bolt (passenger side)

6. Undo the two banjo bolts (drivers side) for the pipe feeds/returns.

7. Undo the top two bolts in scuttle area (these are M10 spline heads iirc)

8. Wrestle the rack out.
