    Hi all

I have done a scan for DTC's on my Audi A3 2.0 TDI 2004 and I have the following 2 DTC's. I didn't even think my car had an Aux Heater? I have looked through the manual and the fuse (F30) is the only thing that mentions the Aux Heater, and there isn't even a fuse in that spot anyway. Can anyone advise?

I saw mention of it in my manual - didn't really pay attention because it warms up reasonably quickly, I've got heated seats anyway, and it's never cold enough here to need it. Could it be right that ere are two additional heaters possible, one in every TDI (because it takes longer to warm up) and one for cars exported to cold countries?

Auxiliary Heater mentioned in your VCDS reading warms up the cold air before the coolant reaches the temperature, heating up the air coming through the air vents as soon as you start the engine.

Weird! How can you get a fault in something that doesn't exist?

There may be some confusion over the term. In Scandinavian countries you can spec an auxiliary heater which is designed to warm the car up in the morning before use. You can set a time for it to come on. That option isn't available in the UK though (I tried to spec it myself).

The heater element mentioned by SAiLO probably has a different name but it's certainly fitted to TDIs.
