Auto dimming rear view mirrors ?

Hi,i have a problem with my drivers side dimming rear view mirror which does not auto dim since i've had the car,i removed the glass today to take a peak and see if it was anything obvious,the 2 wires were connected to the glass and there was a "spare" black connector plug in the mirror housing - does anyone know what or where this plug connects to and have any ideas why the mirror does not auto dim,the passenger and interior mirrors work fine - thanks in advance.

if there is no connection there i would suggest that its not the correct glass?

Not having a clue what i am talking about i would say black was earth. which might be a clue ...or have a look in the one that works

Are they heated?

If so, you'll need two connections for the heater.

A minimum third for the dimming, or two for the dimming and a minimum third for the heater... whichever way you look at it.

anyhow...

its usually 4 connections if youve heating as well
