Would have thought the Auto wipers would have been, not sure though, maybe fitted to the later ones?
Need a list of of optional extras for the B5 pre and post facelift.

I found a couple of them, shame its all yankie and no diesels.
It will do though.
i had 3 dents in the boot of my car since I had it and its been bugging me, so I finally contacted a dent guy to get theese dents removed.
So much better.
I can now stick my badge back on.
Small little mod.
Another little mod/improvment.
Replaced the orange indicator bulbs with some chrome versions.
Its the small touches that all add up mate, looking good!
Yeah, I like the litte touches.
I also like the big touches but they tend to cost more
I got a real urge at the moment to clean, fix, replace, change or mod my car.
It's getting really annoying. I got two project type things on the go at the moment and I'm at the waiting for parts and waiting for time stage.
In the mean time I've cleaned.
I cleaned my engine bay:=-

Tomorrow is alloys I think or the inside of the bonnet
I swung past the paint sprayers today and pick this up.
Its part of a bigger project/idea I got.
I got some other bits to buy and drop off.
Hopefully it should be completed and finished off by next end of month.
I'm off this weekend to make something for my car out of wood.
Should be fun.
Hopefully it will work out as I plan it to be. Time will tell though.
I was reading this Post http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/new-a3...interior-led-package-installed-pic-heavy.html By View Profile: itwasntme187 - Audi-Sport.net and got chatting to the the guy that supplied the LEDs (View Profile: t8ups - Audi-Sport.net) about what some ideas I had, LEDs to fit the Sun visors and if he could help me out with my 3rd break light issue.
After some PMs back and forth he he told me how I can solve my LED 3rd break light issue and supplied me with some LEDs for my interior.
If you're after any PM him, he's a top bloke and very helpful.
Enough of praising him, here is what I done.
I asked for 4 foot well lights (501 panel LEDs), 2 map reading lights for the rear (501 panel LEDs), 2 map reading lights for the front light unit, 1 ultra bright festoon bulb for the boot, 2 number plate LEDs, 4 custom LEDs for the sun visors and something for the front light.
Quick back ground, my main front light unit is not a standard B5 unit. Its a retrofit from Kufatec (KUFATEC GmbH & Co. KG - W8 Interior light - Retrofit - 34052).
On to the pics.
I never took many before and after pics cause I assume you can all look at your B5 and see whats different.
First the main light unit at the front.
I removed the glass to cause of the LED panels that being fitted for the centre light and it worked better for images.
First was the map reading lights
Then the middle two lights. This light board could be split in two to put one each side. I left it for now to see what I think of it. I might change it later.
Next foot well lights.
I used the 501 panel units, I could have used the same units that was used in the above link if I wanted brighter units but I was happy with the normal 501 panels.
Rear map reading lights. Nothing that special, just 501 panel leds fitted where the bulbs go.
Now the boot.

The bit that I was really looking forward to.
You all know the sun visor lights, that nasty orange looking light that make its look dirty?
I've looked for the small festoon bulbs but in a LED version and was unable to find them untill I spoke to Trups who sent me something a bit different.

This is the idea that Trups came up with, which works really really well. I showed the misses about 20mins ago when it was getting dark. i did not realise how bright they are. I think she can still see the dots.

The main is really bright now. May be a bit to bright if you're not ready for it but at least I can see what I'm doing.
The main reason why I went for the W8 light unit. I finally wired it in. I did not know that the buttons light up as well. lol

Sadly no wood or dead tree. Just a dead grandad getting in the way of my boot build
But on a happy note, I will try and do it again in the next couple of weeks.

Koni STRT. Complete kit, all 4 corners with about 40mm drop.
But since my car is on sport suspension, it might only drop it by about 15mm. which is just what i'm after.

Im lead to believe my car is -40mm and is Sport also, so around -20mm, sits nice.
£300 in total from Larkspeed.
Best price I could find and happy with their service and communication, so will recommend them.
I think an extra 20mm drop will be nice.
I've been looking at some alloys but I need to get the car painted first and the alloys can wait until next summer I think.
Gives me time to save and find a UK supplier.

I was going to but then needs must and I've all ways like a bit of a drop on cars.
The paint is a full over job the same colour. I'm getting annoyed looking at the bonnet and drivers side when the passenger side looks so good.
OEM is kind of what I want but need to divert from that a bit I think.
looking good scott. but by the way... the vent on the cover over the airbox isnt just for show its also for the petrol variants, it allows some more airflow over the ignition amplifier which sits on top of the airbox anyhoo, looking forward to seeing your handywork at ADI

I can't wait.
I set about doing the suspension and bushes this weekend after ADI.
The weather was nice and was meant to be nice for sunday. I thought prime time to do it and save from waiting.
saturday was nice, sunday was wet cold and windy. Proper ****, but I started so i had to finish.
Short of it, I did it was it set out to do. fit new shocks, springs and front control arms with new ARB bushes.
But now got a small issue with the car
I got a feeling I ordered facelift rear suspension parts to fit my pre-facelift rear top mounts.
I was told my car has the facelift top mounts so I ordered the suspension they I was told was wrong.
But this is wrong.
When I was doing the shocks and springs, I shared the work out cause I was in a rush.
Me and my old man did the fronts and my mate (who owns the garage) did the rears.
The fronts was fine, no issues.
My mate said there was a issue with the tops mounts but he sorted it out and it should be fine.
Took his word for it, bolted it all back together, lowered the car and stood back to look at my handy work.
it was fine. Not a massive drop which is what I wanted.
Drove it down to kwik fit to get the tracking done and then home.
On the way there was some massive knocking taking place from the back end, took it to kwik fit got the tracking done and back to my dads to find out about this knocking.
We think its the top mounts. bit of a pain, I ran out of time to do any more to it, so I just drove it home.
I'm going to park it up now and order some new facelift rear top mounts and hope that solves the issue.
Whats where its at now.
Still got a small list of bits to do, front wheel bearings, rear axle bushes, front CV boots and I think thats it for running gear. Need to get the belts checked out. The AC belt it squeaking and the aux belt is not looking to healthy. I'll drop it in to the mech end of the month to do them.
On to the pics.
Apart from the above issue with the rear strut tops I think i've done ok and i'm happy with the way it feels now. so much better than before and less clunking (apart from the rear lol).
Get the back end sorted out and i'll see if it handles any better taking some cornish roads to work.
Also, thanks to ebay, TonyA4, A4_Nut and Byzan I got me some new toys to play with for the motor. I should start playing this week.
just a small update about a few things I'm working on.
first is facelift cluster Inca pre-facelift car.
2nd is heated seats. Got the pads just need to order hog ring pliers and some hog rings, wiring look from kufatec and a new hvac control with heated seat switches.
third is a boot build with a different, need to get the wood and a free weekend to build it.
4th is going to be a bit harder and need a lot work. I want to fit a rear blind.
that's it for now.
o yeah, I'm ordering new top mounts tomorrow, so I can get my car back on the road. WooHoo.

And a little update on the rear blind
Need to move it closer to the boot as there is a bit of a gap.
possible tomorrow or even saturday, I'm going to do something I'm not massively looking forward to. Cutting the boot up to drop the blind in closer and lose the gap.
I've removed the old mounting brackets. I will use theses to mount it to the boot lid, some how. :|
The blind is mounted and working. Bit of cutting on the boot lid was requiered to get the blind to sit as flush as possible with the lid.
But it fits alot better now.
I need to get the boot trim made to fit around the blind and enclose it all in. that is something thats beyound my skills, so I need to seek a pro to do it for me.
Need to order this button from the B6 and wire it up to the blind. Part number [4B0 969 903 B]
And thats it for now.
My top mounts turned up today, so i'll be getting them fitted over the weekend.
The MOT is out tomorrow, so I have a couple of tasks to do from now till then to get it past the MOT.
Top mounts and Fog lights are the main ones. I hope it passes, last year it failed on a CV boot and the only advisories was 1 tyre and the other CV boot.
I hate MOTs.
Lookin good matey. Will try and see if I can come up with a solution to the control for you. I'm on the look out for a current sensing circuit that will cut out when the motor stalls (at full extension/retraction) or an adjustable timer circuit. That should do the trick. Found the official pug module but it's CANbus and LINbus controlled, which would be tricky to integrate.
I can make a timer circuit, I think I have an adjustable one at home somewhere.
I'd perfer one that would cut out when the motor stops or hits resistance.
I've not looked in to it any more, I got to much going on to try and get the car through the MOT.
Damn Fog lights.
Fair do's matey. Simple answer is to time how long the blind takes to fully extend and fully retract and use those times to build the circuit. What you bust on the fog lamps?
I'm not keen on the timer idea but needs must.
Just wiring up the fog light box for the facelift button.
oh rite. is that all thats holding up the MOT? if so, just remove the lamps and button if its not there, they cant test it, thus cant fail it. And seeing as they aint a required lamp in RVLR, your good to go.
I still need to fit my rear top mounts.
True... they will be needed. Foglamps however, yeah, primarily because they are an option fit on most cars. same goes for "cornering/bending lamps", DRL's will be tested though (on MY11+) cars when they start getting their mot's, as they are legislated.
