People are better off getting a 2.0T TT, putting the S3 Turbo in it, remap and an lsd ad you'll be looking at 320bhp with no understeer - LOL

I wonder what they actually did to the engine to go from 265ps ( S3 ) to 272ps!

Hardly seems worth it apart from to distinguish the TTS.

Why didn't they tune it up to 300bhp, seems fairly easy for third party tuners to do so why not Audi?

I saw somewhere that they are bringing out a TT-RS with a 3.2 Supercharged and turbocharged lump producing 350bhp. 0-60 = 5s costing around £40k, cheap alternative to the M3?

Interesting info. on the fourtitude website regarding the TTS haldex system:-

"The standard-specification quattro permanent all-wheel drive ensures loss-free transfer of the engine's power to the road. With drive power being delivered to all four wheels, the TTS is able to accelerate quicker and more safely than its rivals, delivering dynamism coupled with supreme stability under all conditions.

At the heart of the quattro system is an electronically controlled and hydraulically operated multi-plate clutch, which now works even faster than ever thanks to a new pressure reservoir. If required, all of the drive force can be redirected from the front to the rear wheels within a matter of milliseconds. To make allowance for the high torques produced by the TFSI engine in the TTS, the drive train has been reinforced as required."

I hope this doesn't kick off a "that's just not possible with Haldex!" thread....

I've also got a pdf of the the new TTS pricing and spec. guide if anyone wants a copy.

Interesting to see that the TT-S produces more power than an S3 (7-ish hp), produces less CO2 than an S3 (188-194 g/km) and consumes less fuel to do it (34.4-35.8 mpg)! Suppose that proves the S3 is a bit thirsty!

Audi don't say anything about directing all of the power to the rear wheels: "The quattro® permanent four-wheel-drive gives you superior handling characteristics by intelligently distributing the propulsive power between all four wheels, boosting traction."

My cousin's got the uprated haldex unit on his Mk1 TT, that sends more power to the rear wheels. The quattro system is mostly fwd tbh

From what ive read on here S3's seem to make 272ps or more , so they may have done nothing to it just give the correct figures?

I would not trust the pictures on the first page, the rear valance just looks like a mock up of the S3 valance as its the exact same exhaust and tailpipes just a mirror image either side.

    Wow, that is nice!

For some reason i am drawn to a convertible one as this new TT doesnt seem to have the same ladies car image, or am I wrong?

I fancy TTS Stronic in drak grey with 19" RS4's.

I feel a call to the dealer coming on!

Small convertables are girls cars :)

Big convertables are for middle aged men suffering from a "life crisis"

    A loss-free transmission?
So every single BHP is transferred from the crank to the wheels?
    Aye, right.:tocktock:

Of course there will be transmission loss. I was referring to the comment about the torque distribution with the Haldex system. I don't know how they get away will printing ********!
