    hello all

i have recently started to get a warning light constanly on in my audi TT roadster, let me try and explain:

when you release the hatch to bring the hood down a warning light appears on the bashboard when the roof is down the lights goes out,

when you bring the roof back up the windows drop slighty, you hook the hatch back in the warning light should turn of, this is my problem the warning light stays on and the windows dont go back up either when i close the roof.

has anyone experiened this or does any one know why this light stays on, any advice will be great. i have notice there is a kind of button which the hatch pushes in when closing could this be the problem??

If you will notice where the roof pins bayonet into the winshield frame, look closely and you will see lever switch be depressed. You can slightly bend/ adjust it back into position so when the pin comes down the switch will be made fully. Your lights will go out and your windows will close.
    Good luck,
    Terry

Thanks Terryc undid the roof turned on the ignition and operated the switch on the passenger side windshield frame. windows close, light goes out. I then bent the switch slightly so that the hook makes contact when the roof is closed.

    Hi Alan,

Any chance you could post a pic. I have identical problem but can't quite figure out the solution. I can see the latch on the LHS and my thinking is when the hook in the top goes under neath it, it will push the bottom up and cause the latch to pivot to the RHS and thereby activate the switch?

But it looks like a piece of alloy and not something I could bend. I have read other posts where people have said they shim it out with a small piece of cardboard or electrical tape. But I just can't visualise where they do that.

    Thanks in advance.

The switch you can see at the top of the picture does not need too much bending it simply will be pushed out of position over time. Simply bend it toward the middle a little (down on the picture). 2015-07-28 09.36.47.jpg

You can also see where the hook makes contact with the switch
