Hi all, I am wondering if someone on here can help me.

I am looking for a garage that can work on my 2001 S3 near High Wycombe or Gerrards Cross (Buckinghamshire). I have just purchased KW spings and shocks, H&R ARBs and have 4 wheel spacers on order.

I dont have the time or tools to carry out the work myself and I dont fancy being stung on the cost of labour. Can anyone recommend a good garage for me? It would be even better if they have courtesy cars available :)

Also before I book it in, is there anything else you would recommend having done at the same time for example tie bars... Some people said they are required whereas others have said not. What about bushes?

I look forward to your suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

If you have the original bushes and arbs it may be worth getting them changed but arbs aren't cheap. I would also get tie bars too but again they aren't cheap.

The suspension is a costly upgrade but you want it all done together really or you'll have 8 year old crumbling components mixed with the new ones.

The thing is you dont realise how bad the bushes and arbs are until you have new ones fitted then it will feel like night and day.

Westle - I have H&R Arbs waiting to be fitted. I wasnt sure about the tie bars and may wait until after xmas (as long as this wont damage my suspension) as I have just spent £800 on parts.

Do you highly recommend new bushes then? If so which ones?

hi mate, storm developments in reading are fantastic. you will find there number on google. my car isnt going to be touched by anyone else apart from them due to the service i got and they really know what they are doing. labour cost is £50ph which is the cheapest i found when looking to get the work i needed doing.

Thanks Wagon. Do they have courtesy cars as it is still a bit of a trek for me?

not sure mate, i left them my car for two weeks while i was away working in the middle east. they might have, give them a call. :)

Westle, have you upgraded your suspension? If so what set-up did you go for?

I might as well get the bushes done while I am at it so I can feel the real benefits

No i've still got the standard shocks and springs with 115K miles on them! They will need doing soon though as one of the rear shocks is leaking and they are in general very tired.

I had my rear arb and my wishbone bushes changed in September as they were nackered. With a new tight ARB the car is sharper turning into bends and the bushes have taken the edge off of hitting bumps in the road. It's amazing what a few silly little plastic bushes can do.

Another vote for APS, fantastic guys and well worth traveling for. I usually get there early and wait for any work to be done, they have a nice waiting area with tv and free wi-fi etc.

Not really. Miles lent me his MK2 Golf for a couple of days when mine was in.

Only other ones in the area are Fontain in Langley (with courtesy car but £70.00 + VAT per hour) or SJB Autotech in Basingstoke (with courtesy car at @ £50 per hour).

Personally have used all and the best by far has been SJB Autotech 01256 477411

I'm sure their is an indie in your area but can't think who:uhm:

Fontain audi at Iver do such mods.

Thanks, I will be giving them all a call and will let you know how I get on.

when you pop into Fontain, ask them about the rear Bose speaker cover they said they would replace when I bought the car off them 3 years ago and haven't got round to doing yet.

HI

Can anyone tell me roughly how many hours labour it would take to fit H&R Anti-Roll Bars (Front and Rear) and also a set of KW shocks and springs?

I have had a few quotes and they vary wildly (into thousands!!!!!) so I thought i'd ask you guys.

Cheers
