I'm looking at doing the same with my silver A3, I had looked at these lights a few months back but decided against it as a few of the places you can buy them off stated they were for LHD only, however I came across this shop on eBay that state there's are RHD and fully road legal and E marked. To be honest I'm not to sure if to go with the silver interior or the black interior?
Anyway here is the link to the ones I came across, looking forward to reading more about the progress with these lights!

    Hi All,

Sorry about the delay, I've been moving house and haven't had a chance to get online! As promised here are the photos from my upgrade:

    Side by side comparison!

Install is fairly straight forward without any modification to the loom..

Looking very smart! My set arrived last night so i'm looking to fit mine this weekend.
How was the install? Any setbacks or was it plug and play essentially?

I will do, I must say that if people are looking to change there headlights but like me could not afford the price tag of a facelift then these are the ones to go for. They have a great look and feel to them, personally i'd say they don't look as tacky as some of the other LED specials out there but each to their own.

I too was tempted by similar but after reading a few reviews on the 'band of led's' and after seeing one driving about for me they just looked a little too dim.

With this pair the solid 'beam' really sold it for me, I'm always impressed by the OEM DRL's on the new Audi's and they just seem that bit brighter! Hence why this was the pair for me. Granted it's not going to be as impressive as the OEM parts but it's as close as my wallet will get me right now! Haha:sly:

    Looking good.
Did you keep the standard halogen bulbs?

I took out the Osrams that came with the fitting and used my Phillips Diamond Visions that I had fitted before but yeah still halogens. Debating weather to fit HID's from the group buy topic.

i would pull the single LED's owt at the bottom of the light tbh - think the bars are good enough!

I'm actually quite impressed with those...

Was worried it was going to look very LexARSEy but actually quite a nice touch and a cheaper resolve than going full OEM Xenons and all associated costs. I do agree with the above post that the light bars are good enough and think the single LEDs are a bit overkill.

The light bars kind of look like the new SQ5 headlights.

I did the exact same! I was (its been closed) in the group buy for WelldoneHID's as I found the diamond looks white headon but from the side you can see a slight tint of blue which is off putting! But I think after my bulbs have been aligned by my mechanic I will take another crack at fitting the L.E.D bulbs from my other thread as they worked really well!

I agree but the ballast for the L.E.D's share the same circuit as the DRL so I don't want to risk potentially raising the voltage and blowing the bars by removing those L.E.D's. Truth be told despite the photos you don't really notice they exist!

@TheAnticitizen1 I completely agree! You can barley notice those small LED's at all. Have you noticed any condensation in your fittings? Ive got a small collection in both fittings near the indicator bulbs, ive looked all around for a seal break but with no luck, i'm contemplating just planting abit of silicon here an there. I'd still be able to access the bulbs for changing if need be but hopefully sort the issue.

    @MattKeating: http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/a3-s3-...5243-led-headlight-bulbs-alternative-hid.html

@Siddo: I noticed a bit this morning but this is the first morning where I've had to scrape the ice from my car! My old set did get condensation my cure was to remove the light get your self some gloves and apply silicon to your finger then run it along the joint between the glass and the rear housing wiping away any excess as you go.. makes for a neat job if you use the clear silicon!

Ah brilliant thanks for the tip! I'll give that a try. Thought i'd share this information that the seller responded with which may come in useful.

"hi, the lights are made in a humid county and when they come over here sometimes it happens, all you need to do is remove the rear covers, leave the lights on for an hour or so in a dry environment untill the condensation is gone then re-fit the rear covers and make sure that they are on and sealed correctly, shouldnt do it again although we have had a few customors that have had to do this twice to fully remove and condensation."

So i'll give this a try this weekend I think.

I've yet to see an aftermarket headlight that looks good.
Just makes the car look cheap.
In my opinion it's just as tacky as painting the middle of your 8P1 bumper black and thinking it looks like an 8P2!
If you're that desperate, do an 8P3 front end conversion.

I respect you have your own opinion but not everyone can afford to do that, i'm saving up just to buy a newer model and in the mean time I thought i'd fit what I think are the better of the aftermarket lights. It's my car, It's how I want it :)

Each to their own, if we were all the same it would be boring.
Factory xenon's would have been my choice but, as you said, it's your car to do what you want with.
Lowering springs next I hope ;-)

Can't say fairer than that! If i could have done it that way I would have done :)
I'm debating if its work getting some Xenons to fit now I have projector lenses. I didn't fancy instaling them with the halogen reflectors and blinding everyone!

Whats the point in changing the car to look like a 63 plate when VAG group update their cars every 6 months (or so it feels) look at the golf they are up to MK7! if you change the front end you'll waste the money looking out of date anyway.. The point of these headlights and other aftermarket ones are to take the new style and apply it to your car for a fraction of the cost.. anyway its not like we are putting a rude boy bumper kit on it!
