Audi S3 smoking

    Hi recently changed head gasket on car then took it for a drive and noticed it was smoking like oil smell the car dident smoke before hand just wondered if the timing could be tooth out or anything as I've run out of ideas

    Could have too much oil. Check the oil. Does it smoke constantly or just when boosting?

    2002 Audi s3 bam engine the dose not seem to smoke.till hot I've dropped old oil and put fresh in it I changed manifold on car so had head of and put new head gasket on New bolts ect but I never had head skimmed as it was fine befor hand but wondering if I should

    There will always be a small amount of oil burning off from the exhaust etc after doing work like this... oil gets everywhere and it typically all burns off after a short time..

    Other than that its tricky to say what else could be wrong as headgasket changes are pretty invasive/involved jobs requiring loads to be removed/refitted...

    Go back over everything and double check its all connected as it should be... typically oil smells come from damaged PCV hoses

    Make sure the engine can breathe i.e catch can blocked or pipes have not collapsed
