Hi everyone,

Just a quick question, anyone know why i have silver trim on my xenon lights like so:

Silver

when others have black?

Black

Mine is a 58 plate, but ive also seen 2010 reg S3's with silver.

Have i got a specific model or something?

Jordan

The silver trim is only for the adaptive headlights that adjust to any changes to the steering wheel,so when u go round a bend the beam also moves with the direction of the wheels. When i was looking at the brochure i believe it was a few hundred pounds extra so didnt think it was worth it.

Good question & good answer! Thanks both.

I've never noticed there was a difference before & don't remember seeing any with black trim either, just thought they were all silver like mine. 👍

Thanks guys,

I definitely have adaptive headlights, they turn left/right when i turn the wheel, awesome around bends.

Can anyone else confirm that they have black trim with non-adaptive headlights?

OK - so the obvious question, are the adaptive headlights an easy retrofit?

Needs rewiring internally/externally, modules changing, coding etc, its possible yes just takes time to do, let me know if you want a supply/fit solution.
