Audi Racing Bike
Audi and Lightweight create new limited edition 5.8kg super bike
Launched at the 85th Geneva Motor Show, the Audi Sport Racing Bike marks Audi’s joining of the likes of Caterham, McLaren, Lamborgini and Aston Martin in the world of superbike spin-offs.
...
Made in partnership between Audi and fellow German company CarbonSports – which produces Lightweight bikes – the Audi Sport Racing Bike will be limited to a production run of only 50 and comes in at a cool €17,500 (approx £12,455 / US$18,620 / AU$24,130).
The Audi Sport-inspired bike borrows several elements of its construction from the company’s sports car lineup, including a Selle Italia saddle covered in the same Fine Nappa leather as used in the new Audi R8.
The frame and forks are made from T1000 carbon – used in the Audi R18 e-tron Quattro cockpit – resulting in a 790g frame and contributing to an all-up weight of just 5.8kg when built up with Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 and 3T finishing kit.
All this is wrapped in a simple but effective colourscheme courtesy of the Audi Concept Design Studio in Munich. Each bike also has an individual limited edition badge.
