Audi Opens First Transmission Plant in China
Together with Volkswagen Automatic Transmission Tianjin (VWATJ), Audi cut the ribbon on a new transmission plant in the northern Chinese port town of Tianjin. The plant will make 7-speed S tronic transmissions for cars such as the A4 L and other locally made models.
This is Audi’s first transmission plant in China and it’s expected to produce 240,000 transmissions a year and employ more than 1,000 when it’s at full capacity.
