I'm going to be having a go at installing on of these in my 2007 S3, and I was wondering if anybody has actually fitted one of them at all? Was looking for hints, tips and possible shortfalls to look out for. Is there any wiring that needs altering? What coding needs to be done?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
It will be installed to a RNS-E with media button.

    Thanks so much,

    Daz.

I think you buy different adapter leads depending on whether you want to connect iPod or USB etc.?

    Hi all
I have this - should come from the factory with 2 leads, 1 for ipod / iphone the other I haven't used so not sure what it's for. When connect to Ipod you can select & use all menus via RNS-E, it also charges it. Simply plug & play ;-).

    Karl

OK checked out the other lead & it's for a USB stick.

AMI has has a socket that then allows the 4 different adapter leads to be plugged in, obviously only 1 at a time, they be for USB, Iphone/Ipod, Bluetooth adapter for streaming of music from a mobile or mp3 player & Headphone jack lead to plug into any music device that has the socket.

It allows full integration of artists, albums etc instead of the **** ipod interface of before via a virtual port via changer connection, that had no track text or artists list.

Expensive system for sure & its not a case of plugnplay, there are requirements on older cars to connect it up, 1 being the mk2 rns-e & of course a cd changer cutout in the glovebox amongst others.

You could try muffling the mic in light assembly above your head (although thats probably a **** idea tbh) so it doesnt detect any differences in cabin noise, as iirc the Bose changes sound based on what that mic hears, not speed related.
