Just as the title really, Have any of you guys purchased GAP insurance from any other company than AUDI?

I sign my agreement on monday and the GAP insurance they are offering is £499, which is return to purchase price for the first 3 years and then the fourth settles your finance. I feel that £499 for this is a little steep.

There is a company online offering return to list price for 4 years for £180!?

Points of view welcome, what would you do?

    Yes, 499 is crazy.

I paid 109 quid to Direct Gap for 3 years RTI cover of up to 10k.

499 is ridiculous. we sell it at 299/349! but personally, get it elsewhere, online there are some cracking deals on it just read all the small print and exclusions etc and make sure it matches the level of cover properly! what did they offer the safegard/supagard or what ever they sell at??!!

Well they offered the safeguard and i said i didn't want it, so they gave it me for free apparently??? got to check the paperwork on monday to see if it really is for free!!!!

Thanks all for the unanimous point of view, just saved myself £350 :anbet:

well.. they might build it in to the figures but it probably hasn't even been done..! unless you get the warranty/guarantee registration paperwork etc and the free cleaning kit that comes with it..!

Got Audi to throw my 3yr GAP insurance cover in for free.

It didn't take too much effort, I asked if they could throw it in to seal the deal and got it.

good work.. although next time you could get them to throw something in worth £500 and use that money u saved to buy the online GAP.. depending on the value of the car it probably only costs them between 100-200 maybe less!

I would say £499 is steep, I used to sell it for £349 for 3 years and know there were lots of other companies doing it cheaper. It often earnt me £50 in a deal to sell it hence why its pushed, having said that it is a good product...if you need it.

I would say as long as you check the small print on other options then go for a cheaper one.

GAP, RTI...return to invoice, PPP, purchase price protection, all the same.

Doing it on a brand new car is the best value for sure.

Don't worry, the free GAP cover was not the only part of the deal. ;0)
