I have removed a symphony 2 head unit and have a pioneer 1600ub to fit. When it didn`t work I have spent several days reading every thread available on loads of sites and still no luck. I have fitted a switched ignition and an aerial booster. The problem I have is when I put the stereo on it alls seems to come through the dash speakers with hardly anything through the front door or rear speakers. Even when I turn the balance right to the back you can hardly hear anything through them. I used a PC9 401 ISO and then tried a PC9 404 ISO both with the same awful effect. Halfords (yes I know I shouldnt go there but they were handy) have now said I should use a PC9 409 which does not seem to match anything I have read so far. If anyone can help clarify the situation I would be really grateful. Am at the stage where I am considering throwing the old unit back in its that bad.

Hi my friend, it's really weird, sound should work properly! To help you I found this topic that you can translate, maybe it could help you to find the solution. See you soon

Thanks for your input. I now seem to suspect the amp in the boot. I have a live to it when I put the stereo on but no other readings to the other 2 wires. Anyone know how to test an amp?

I think there is amp tester available in stores or in Amzaone
