Hello i have a AUDI A4 B8 2008. I have a intermittent fault with the glow plug light flashing. Basically the glow plug light flashes for half a second to the point where i couldn't even tell what light it was i just remembered the position and seen it was the glow plug light from the manual. It can flash every 30 seconds especially when sat at traffic lights to every 5 minutes, there doesn't seem to be any pattern. When it does flash i don't get any loss of power or any noticeable difference with the car.

I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced this or heard of it it in the past and possibly knows the solution or what is causing the problem. I really appreciate your help. Thanks

Scan it. No point in guessing or assuming as it could be anything.

Hi, I wouldn't leave it too long to work out what the issue is. Although the car appears to be working OK it's more than likely an issue with a sensor. This may affect the regeneration for the DPF and can lead to expensive problems in the short term.
You need to get the codes read off the ECU and go from there.
We have several members with VAG-COM who could see what the fault codes stored are.

If you have an Android phone a £5 Bluetooth dongle from Flea bay and an app on your phone like Carista and you can check the fault codes yourself.
