Audi A4 Avant 2004 sat nav/radio in safe mode.

Hi folks,my battery had gone flat while I have been working away and no the sat nav/radio is stuck in safe mode. I have the code here but can't enter it as its not responding. How do i get it out of safe mode to enter the code? Also any common problems with the a4 that may be draining the battery, bad earths etc etc??

Great turned it on for an hour and left it and its out of safe mode. Got the code but must be off the standard unit,somebody have obviously put the sat nav unit in it. So looks like i dont have the code after all! What can i do now?
