Audi a3 tdi gearbox noise

My car is making a noise its a
Audi A3 1.9 tdi 2006 5 speed
It is hard to go in to gears and and when driveing there is a whineing/humming noise when decelerating any ideas what it could it be?

Either DMF or lay shaft bearings most likely.

If it was the dmf wouldnt it knock when idle

Possibly. I had similar and it was the layshaft bearings.
