Audi A3 8V sport suspensions vs. 8P sport suspensions?

Hi,

I currently have an A3 2.0 TDI sport (8P), and the ride is quite firm (with sport suspensions and 17" wheels), feeling all the road bumps.

I have been test driving the new A3 but with SE suspensions (and 16" wheels): quite impressed, much better ride, although very slighly too soft in some cornering.

I was wondering if anybody has compared the previous sport suspensions with the new ones?

Maybe I could order a sport model with SE suspensions, and the 17" wheels would just make the ride slighly firmer? But then the car would look a bit strange.
