Having a garage clearout and found this lurking in the back, bought this a couple of years ago with the intention of doing a boot build in my A3, but now 8P is now a 8V and it won't work in that. This was made to fit A3 8P 3 Door. Its fit a 10inch subwoofer, it was made for a JL Audio 10W3 but can be used with equivelent subs.

Im not 100% sure that it doesn't fit a sportback, it wasn't sold to me as a 3 door only, i was just told it was made for a 3 door car originally , your welcome to come and trial fit it one weekend if you want.

thanks mate, but the 3 door boot has a larger sub area than that of the sport back.

So does that fit flush with the boot side wall? I am interested but was ideally looking for something that was totally stealth and behind the side carpet.

Im not sure how flush it sits, but i do know that it replaces the side trim. So isn't completely stealth.

Does it require any modification of the boot or just remove the OEM carpet and fit this? Are there any fixing points or is it free standing? And any idea of the internal volume? I assume it's a sealed enclosure?

    Cheers

As far as im aware it is a straight fit into the boot, not modifying is needed. im pretty sure it has fixing points but ill double check that when i get home.

As for volume i believe it was made for a JL Audio 10W3 so around 0.625 cu. ft. i have a Hertz subwoofer brand new that matches this box if your interested aswell.

Also it is a sealed enclosure.

Cheers, I have a 10" Genesis A25.01 left over from my last install so if that would fit it would be worth a punt whilst I continue my search for an Andymac enclosure second hand. My sub seems to be lower profile than the JL but should be in a 20l enclosure and it's mounting width might be a bit larger. I will compare some specs when I get home :)

Checked out the specs and although it is 2.3l undersized that shouldn't be *too* much of a problem, if I were to sell my sub I'd only lose money anyway so might as well repurpose it as it cost a lot of money. My only concern now is the mounting diameter, I think the box will be 10mm too small and the rear baffle will make it a PITA to enlarge the hole. 10mm will also be too little to mount the sub to the top rather than the flush fit baffle.

I know you said it was for the 10W3 which is 230mm diameter but do you mind measuring it for me just in case mate?

Just had a look at the box, i can't actually see any mounting points, although there is screw hole in the top left, which could have been used for mounting. the baffle diameter is 235mm, the outer baffle is 270mm.

I will take a chance on it mate if we can find a courier for a decent price, Just measured up my sub and there may be a few mil difference but I can file it off if it's only a few mil. Can you get the weight and dimensions and I will find a courier? Cheers

Look forward to receiving it and hope it only requires a little modification to fit my sub :)
